Suicide Prevention Workshop - Registration is Open
The Long Island Spiritist Doctrine Studies is hosting the 7th Annual Suicide Prevention Workshop on November 23rd at the Stony Brook University in Long Island. Suicide in the United States has surged to the highest levels in nearly 30 years. According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, there was an average of 130 suicides per day in the US in 2017 and they estimate this number is in fact much higher due to the stigma about suicide.
The workshop will present tools for those dealing with anxiety, depression and mental-related dysfunctions.
Spiritism offers a lifeline for those who are going through hardships. After the presentations a Q&A session and a community forum will provide space for personal questions.
Fraternal assistance will be available free of charge for those experiencing difficult times.
Light dinner included in the registration fee.
